Pet Committee Meeting Minutes

Attendance: Amy, Aysegul, Scott
• Different fund raising options for poop bags are discussed. Pet committee decided that this is not a viable option.
• The committee will propose to do a Ban Survey to determine if the ban is consistent with residents’ view. The board will decide what an acceptable turnout percentage is, for the results to determine whether ban will be lifted or stayed in any of the parks. Pet committee will draft the language of the survey and present it to the board.
• Ideas for little poop signs to be placed by uncollected waste were discussed. Since they would be against the CC&Rs, we will not pursue this any longer.
• Committee decided to put little signs on pet stations which indicate that poop bags are for emergency use only.
• Committee decided not to use HOA forums for official committee communication. Instead we will use the forums to announce pet related news, and encourage everyone to use it to express their views on different subjects.
• Committee will design custom pet signs to be put on both pet stations and entrances.
• Recommendations will be made to City of Hillsboro Parks for what kind of a dog park we are looking for. Area dog parks will be visited and observed for good and bad qualities.
• Pet Committee website is close to getting done.
• The Committee decided to email all the Pet Survey respondents, who wanted to be contacted, about recent pet news (new garbage bin and pet stations are coming, there are still a problems with waste, running out of bags too quickly, dog park plans etc.). The email will be sent, once the Pet Stations are purchased.
