Call to Order

This was our first meeting, and the goal was to set a direction for the committee. We also needed to determine how much money we should request for the 2006 budget.

Discussion

• It was agreed that our first step should be to try to find out what the pet-related issues are in the neighborhood, by distributing a survey
• We may also conduct a field study to determine the extent of the “poop” problem
• We wish to be a group that facilitates communication between pet owners and the board and helps to create solutions, but we do not wish to act as enforcers
• Assuming it’s ok with the new newsletter folks, we will have a “Pet Corner” in the newsletter where we dispense sage advice and/or answer questions that have come up
• We will ask for enough budget to do 2 mailings and 3 hand-delivered flyers
